kinput2-wnn software package provides An input server for X11 applications that want Japanese text input, you can install in your Debian 8 (Jessie) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install kinput2-wnn
kinput2-wnn is installed in your system.
Make ensure the kinput2-wnn package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep kinput2-wnn *
You will get with kinput2-wnn package name, version, architecture and description in a table
